Happy new year all! After a rather turbulent 2011 (some reasons good, others bad), I have to say I'm really pleased to usher in 2012.

Been busy writing for a brand new project of mine: I was really into a lot of New Orleans music last year, and this project is the regurgitation of all of that listening. I've been really taken by the music and vibe of the Mardi Gras Indians, and rather than try and copy (I've arranged and used some traditional songs), I've just used the vibe as a starting point (I hope it's morphed into something else).

Although the music doesn't sound like the music It'll be featuring:

Me - Alto Clarinet; Tenor Saxophone
George Crowley: Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet
Shabaka Hutchings: Tenor Saxophone, Clarinet
Rory Simmons, Alex Bonney: Trumpets
Nat Cross: Trombone
Theon Cross: Tuba
John Blease: Percussion

We have two gigs:

31st Jan @ The Amersham Arms, London
5th Feb @ The North London Tavern, London
